Important Reminder

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

If you pay online with a credit card there is a 2.75% fee for each transaction. Please include payment of that fee at time of transaction. Fees not paid up front are added to your account fees.

Remember accounts with outstanding fees will be charged additional fees. Payments made late are charged a late payment fee. That fee is now $15.

Online payments made via your savings or checking accounts carry no additional fees at time of transaction. (Hooray, some good news.)

Sorry for the many reminders, some of our families are finding it challenging to navigate this system. We'll get there together! Call me if you have additional questions.

Go to www.schweitzerumc.org and look for the link at the bottom that says "Give Online"

Set up a profile -this is required for preschool families to participate.
Go down below the donation options to Grow To Know
When you enter your payment amount there be sure to put your name in the box next to it. (If you are a grandparent making a payment put "your name for child's last name", example: SMITH for Brown) The same would be true for parent's who have a child with a different surname.

It will look like this:

Grow To Know Preschool

 -Preschool Tuition Payments:

Grow To Know Preschool

-Preschool Tuition Payments:

Make payments from your checking or savings account with no additional fees.

Credit/debit card payments will be available with a 2.75% fee added. The selection for paying that fee says "optional" but if not paid by you while you are making the payment that fee will be added to your preschool account. It would be much easier for us if you would pay that as you make your payment.
Don't be confused by the word donation on your payment summary page. We are working with the page designer to change that wording. Anything given via the Grow To Know section will be applied to tuition and fee payments.

Briefly today the crew will be working on the water line, so if you are visiting the building between 12:30 and 1:30 please do not use the water or flush any toilets. The children will be napping of course and the teachers will all have pitchers of water for emergencies. It should be just a very short time that the water is off and right back on again.

Remember tomorrow there will be a late afternoon time where some of the electrical services will be limited if it doesn't rain. We should be outside during that time and will have fully functioning water. Our heat, should we need it, is gas. This should only affect lights and appliances.

Be sure to take a minute to look around at the progress in the renovated section of the building. It is simply gorgeous.

As you will see when the Growing Times is published at the end of next week, there will be a ribbon cutting for the renovated section and new church nursery on April 3rd. We would love for our GTK families to attend. Two of our classes will be using the "new rooms" starting next month!

Be sure to tune in to one of the major radio stations, KY3 or channel 10 for their closing list tomorrow. Remember if Springfield Schools are out the morning classes (Mrs. Amy and Ms. Tammy are automatically cancelled).

If it is so bad that our staff can't physically get here to open the school then we would cancel full day classes. This hardly ever happens.

If utilities are out here at the church we would also have to cancel. This has only happened one time in 12 years and that was just the phone system, so I am confident we'll be fine.

You can save the school closing list to the homescreen of your smartphone from www.ky3.com/weather/closings .

This blog will be updated as things develop.

WOW

The first day of the new school year (NUMBER 12) is looming near. Monday our full day kids move up and Tues/Wed starts our new academic morning classes. We are excited!

We had great Open House attendance. If you missed out and wish to see the slide show I can email you a link. Reply in comments to this blog post.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you for completing the Spiritual Survey page. We got excellent response. We are glad to see so many of you happily attending church regularly somewhere in the Springfield area. Those of you that indicated that you would like more information will be getting an email or note in your child's classroom mail box very soon.

If you did not yet complete your survey, send it on in. I'm still compiling data.

If you have other forms to complete we would love to have those as early as possible so all the files can be set up and data entered on the computer. (It all takes time-my favorite part of my job-the data entry. Ha.)

Don't hesitate to ask me questions between now and Monday. The more we can clear up between now and then the better the first day will go.

We are going to have a great year together. I'm so excited about our fabulous staff! You are going to love them and how your children learn and grow.

Kayla

VBS PROGRAM

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Don't forget the VBS program is tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7:00 PM. Please have your children here by 6:45 to meet with their classes so they can all travel together to the sanctuary and be seated together. It is a fun event and you will get a peek at what your child has been doing all week in VBS. All children who wish to may come Sunday to the 11:00 worship service to sing their VBS songs for the congregation. We hope you will join us for both of these events.

Vacation Bible School is next week. It is ever so urgent that you arrive before 9:00 AM so that you can join your group before they leave their classroom to go to the opening in the sanctuary. It can be hard to find your class in a sea of children. I recommend coming at 8:45 at the latest so there is time to get ready to leave the room.

There are a couple of people that have not turned in the yellow VBS form- please do so.

The program for the end of VBS will be Thursday evening at 7 PM. The children may also come to the 11:00 service Sunday the 1st to sing for the congregation.

PRESCHOOL Open House will be August 10th for Morning Academic Sessions and August 17th for the full day classes. Please mark your calendars. You should have received an invitation in the mail with all the details.

Getting ready for a very fun year!!!

If you are looking for a good spiritual development opportunity there is an interesting group beginning August 1st: Challenging Lifestyle.

A 5-week study on relevant topics including Integrity, Response to Difficult People, Conflict, Giving and Prayer. A fee of $10 covers the course manual. Meets 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Sundays beginning August 1st in the Hospitality Room. Sign up by contacting Mark McKnelly, mmcknelly@schweitzerumc.org.
