Turn Them In

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Book orders are due today.

If you haven't claimed your placement for summer/fall hand in those neon yellow half sheet enrollment pages today so we don't give your spot away. We are getting bunches of calls for next year.

Some of us are off track on tuition payments since we had snow days and have had so many absences. You should be getting an account summary if you have under or over paid.

Call Kayla at 881-6800, extension 217 if you have questions.

Remember to call absences in to the same extension as well.

I mentioned a documentary yesterday and later had the brainstorm that I should attach the trailer for it...

Urgent need...Shampoo, towels, toothpaste, etc. We're grateful for
all who signed up to serve this Saturday for the All Hands on Deck. We
have plenty of people to serve and now we need more items to assemble
into kits
. With last week's heavy snow, we understand many of you had
a hard time getting out and about. It's absolutely not too late to
bring hygiene items to the church office to be included in the health
kits we will be packaging for the local Salvation Army and to send to
Joint Base Balad in Iraq. Specifically, the following items are
needed:

- Soap  - Shampoo  - Deodorant  - Toothpaste/toothbrush  - Hand towels

- Wash cloths  - Combs (sturdy)  - Shower shoes (flip flops)

- Sweat shirts/pants (all sizes)  - Socks

Thanks for your generosity and inspiration.

Per Pastor Bob (e-news)

Miss Kayla made a big boo boo. I went to switch over the phone system to forward calls to my cell phone and found I had missed the timing by 4 minutes. The main switch board has already gone to night mode and I cannot forward calls tonight. My apologies.

My number is 417-576-0698. Please call me directly tonight if you need to reach the preschool between now and 8:30 AM.

I have not written one of these for a bit so:

I just saw the single-most terrifying movie that I think I have ever seen. Forget horror movies, watch Gasland. It is an Oscar nominated documentary about ground water contamination from chemicals used in hydro-fracturing to exhume natural gas. Tap water was never meant to be flammable. Check this one out. We do not want this method used in our watershed!

GOOD Green News-Mr. Ed just gave us 40 lbs. of organic bananas!!! Hooray Ed. They are sooooo yummy.

You have to scroll down to see the pictures on these. I'm not tech savvy enough to over ride the automatic sizing.

Please, please, please...

When you call in and leave a message for me to call you back -tell me who you are and leave me a call back number.

If you call in and I have calls forwarded to my cell phone because I am in a classroom or off campus your number does not show up on my caller ID.

If you call and get my office extension and leave a message and it comes up as "unknown caller" because your number is unlisted, I cannot select to return the call and get through to you. Please tell me who you are on your messages.

The blog can be updated by me via my cell phone wherever I happen to be whether I am in a location that has electricity or not. This is the best option for emergency updates. We aren't having a lot of success with the phone regarding options for alternative greeting messages at the moment. It worked Tuesday but not Wednesday. We are working to see why it isn't consistently working.

If you are somewhere and cannot remember how to contact us:

Google Schweitzer UMC and the church home page has all the contact numbers, direct links to blogs, and to our email addresses. I can check my church email via my cell phone also. Put PRESCHOOL in your message title somewhere in case you get sent to junkmail and I will catch it.

PLEASE call extension 217. Ashley works part time and your call may sit in her voice mail for hours if I am in meetings at the office building or off campus. Your calls will be forwarded to me wherever I am and I will call back as soon as humanly possible.

Here are my numbers again:

Cell 417-576-0698

Office 881-6800 or 881-1447 ext. 217 (forwards to me if I am away from preschool)

kgrosshart@schweitzerumc.org

blog: www.gtk.schweitzerumc.org

my personal email gets checked more often than my work one if I am away

kc1177@msn.com (please no cute forwards)

If all else fails search me on face book and send me a message that way. For your privacy send it as a message rather than posting it to my wall. You do not have to be on a person's friend list to send a private message.

Remember that if we are closed it is only because we absolutely cannot get teachers here.

All cancellations are on the school closing list on tv, radio, at ky3.com,  ktts school closing list etc. Tuesday and Wednesday were only day 3 and day 4 that we have ever been closed. Twice in the past we have opened when no one came at all so please call your child in absent by 9:30 any day that they aren't coming.

If Springfield schools are out our morning classes are out in Amy and Tammy's rooms, but full time classes are usually in session. Just check those cancellation lists and the blog.

We are closed.
