School pictures are here and Ashley is processing them as we speak.

You may pick them up when you pick up your child today (Wednesday) or Friday.

All pictures of any child who is absent today will be locked in the office.

Please call and tell us if you are stopping by to pick up pictures for a child who is absent, so that we will have them available in your child's class mailbox.

The lab printed the class photos as 4 wallet sized class photos. Please keep these as a gift from Miekley Photography and your 5x7 class photo is being re-ordered.

Gretchen suggested that the small ones would be excellent for scrapbooking.

The preschool offices are moving to Cather Hall, room 106 today.

Cather is the hallway you have been entering through all week. Our door will be the last on the right before the first hallway you come to (Dodge Hall o). I don't know what form of temporary signage we will have.

It is a busy day today as four of our teachers are out doing an extensive social/emotional development course. Exciting!

We have two wonderful ladies in today who are new to us, but certainly not new to this church. Kelsie is a Moppet worker and Susan (a Parents As Teachers alumni) are graciously helping us out out today.

Miss Ashley will be in a classroom today, so for office calls put everything in my voicemail (217). There are still no direct lines back to the classroom with the new phone system. We hope this will not be for too terribly long. For office calls between 4:00 PM and 8:30 AM the phone in my office is set to forward to my cell phone so if you are trying to reach a classroom call my extension and I will then call the appropriate teacher.

For the rest of this week please give checks directly to me as the drop box will disappear for now. If you come in earlier than I do please give checks to Ms. Michele (our lovely cook). For late afternoon payments please give checks to Ms. Emily. I'll let you know as soon as we have a new drop box system in place.

Looks like we are off on the great re-modeling adventure!

Good news/bad news...

At the doctor yesterday the person who is ill got a positive test for pertussis (whooping cough).

The health department retest this morning says maybe not.

We are awaiting conclusive results to see do they or don't they actually have pertussis.

Meanwhile, we are reminding children how to cough and sneeze correctly, washing hands constantly, doing extra in-depth cleaning and studying up on pertussis symptoms and info. We are also looking into the option of locating a provider for inexpensive booster shots. Our staff who updated their tetanus shots in October at the health fair got a bonus-they got the booster already! I may get one myself, just because.

Since both full day and morning classes will be using the same entrance it is very important that we move in and out of the parking lot safely.

Here is the protocol:

Those walking in should continue to park directly North of the gym and follow the sidewalk where it curves to walk in through the Cather Hall door.

Please do not park nearer the Cather door as this would put foot traffic going between the moving cars in the car line.

Those in the preschool carline should enter and exit as before, but please be careful to watch for those walking north of the gym. For efficiency and safety of all keep children buckled into their car seats UNTIL their teacher comes to the car to get them. Parents stay in the cars and the teachers will get your child. It moves much more quickly and safely when the teachers are doing all the retrieving and returning of children.
