July 2010 Archives
I love VBS week. It brings up so many great memories from my childhood. Year after year the Grow To Know graduates that attend Bible School are a blessing to see! There is no way some of them could be old enough to be in junior high and working as VBS teachers! Yet here they are, nearly grown up and serving God by teaching those younger than they are. It is rewarding to have been a small part of their lives.
We had over 200 kiddos in the building today. Our Grow To Know students did so well! They are enjoying the change of pace and I can guarantee you that their Bible knowledge will grow by leaps and bounds this week. They will be singing and signing and telling you all about Joseph and Egypt. Just ask them.
A reminder-be sure you are here well before 9:00 or you will be chasing your group down somewhere in the building. It can get confusing so it is much easier to just start out the day in the classroom before they change locations.
Open House dates are set! Morning Academic classes will have Open House/Parent Orientation on August 10th and Full Day Classes on August 17th.
Vacation Bible School is next week. It is ever so urgent that you arrive before 9:00 AM so that you can join your group before they leave their classroom to go to the opening in the sanctuary. It can be hard to find your class in a sea of children. I recommend coming at 8:45 at the latest so there is time to get ready to leave the room.
There are a couple of people that have not turned in the yellow VBS form- please do so.
The program for the end of VBS will be Thursday evening at 7 PM. The children may also come to the 11:00 service Sunday the 1st to sing for the congregation.
PRESCHOOL Open House will be August 10th for Morning Academic Sessions and August 17th for the full day classes. Please mark your calendars. You should have received an invitation in the mail with all the details.
Getting ready for a very fun year!!!
