December 2009 Archives
This is a great season for sharing. I know of a couple of families that only give to those outside of their family and not among the adults within their own family. They so inspire me. What a selfless Christian attitude!
As you plan your gift giving consider "others" that perhaps you do not even know. Many families contribute to Toys for Tots or other toy or food drives through their church and community agencies. If your family has yet to plan your charitible giving in honor of Christmas consider giving to the Grow To Know scholarship fund. More requests have been made for assistance with tuition than can be met this year. Our fund is now dry to start the new year.
Our economy has made this year and last more challenging to preschool and all other non-profit community groups. Charity is seen by some as an expendible obligation when things are tight in their own budget. For many it has been a necessity to cut back on giving in the face of job change or loss and home foreclosures. Jesus challenges us to give to the "least of these" and in doing so we are showing our love for Him. It's a tall order, but who will step of and act in faith?
Gifts to Grow To Know general funds are always appreciated as well.
Class pictures for the Raspberry Room need to be retaken. I will email you the details ASAP.
