First Ever

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Here it is the first ever Grow To Know blog. We've done it-fully jumped into the information age. The purpose of this blog will be two fold. First of all we will have a way to post messages that you might usually get on memos (you know those multitudinous little pieces of paper that end up glued to the bottom of the back pack or wedged half under the floor mats of the car until two days after you needed to know about them.) For a while we will still rely on paper messages as it will take a while for everyone to get used to checking the blog. Also there is a chance that not everyone will be able to access a computer. Secondly we can put more up to date information and hold conversations here where a printed newsletter once a month does not afford that. I love writing The Growing Times so there will still be a monthly edition, but for those who read the blog you will be able to download it and save some trees!

There will be a way for you to comment/post questions but we will ask that these be done so sensitively. There will be some basic ground rules regarding respect, content, and issues of confidentiality. This isn't the place to argue theology or politics, but it is a good place to ask if anyone has hints for handling thumb sucking or a dislike of vegetables. Individual children, staff or specific behavior occurences should be excluded from discussion. Likewise it isn't a place to advertise, invite people to your Tupperware party, or promote clubs and organizations or their fundraisers. Sorry, but we want to stick to Grow To Know Events and Early Childhood Education Topics. All specific issues should be handled in person with your child's teacher or with me in the office.

I do as editor reserve the right to rant...politely of course...if you read the editorials in The Growing Times you will know what I mean.

So,

Here we go!

Kayla
